Kurosawa's Seven Samurai begat The Magnificent Seven. Which indirectly begat spaghetti westerns (The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly being a better example). Which Lucas has noted were inspirations for Star Wars. All of which lead to Tampopo, a movie I heartily recommend (if you can find it).
