great photos, H-man.
Hey, when ya comin' to Big D again? Ritas await!
Lovely! And what do you mean, again? Did I miss a visit from hobbit?!?
Thanks. Now if I could just get this focusing thing figured out, I'd be OK. (This camera - Olympus SP-500UZ - doesn't focus well in less-than-moderate light.)
Next visit to Big D? No clue. The company doesn't like to spend money on non-sales trips, so prolly not any time soon. I haven't seen my boss in over 2 years.
Edieraye, the company I work for is in Naples, Florida, but the division I work for is in Arlington. In the first couple years, I visited the division a handful of times. On a couple of them I was lucky enough to hook up with P.
More geography magic:
When BHD & I lived in Illinois, I worked for a company based in California, who had an R&D lab outside of Chicago (also Texas, New York, Washington, England, and another facility in California).
Then I went to work for a start-up in Atlanta. I got to work from home, but only part-time, so every other week I flew to Georgia.
That startup, like most, failed. The company I work for now bought us a week before we would have closed the doors (actually, they bought the people).
Although my new boss had never had a remote developer before, he agreed to let me continue to work from home. And now he has another guy in Pennsylvania and a whole R&D lab in Ireland (yes, the country).
As long as I have a phone line and a net connection, he's happy. Witness the 2 moves we've done since I started working for him!
Well, next time you better include me or I will feel extrememly left out. (Wow, I bet that threat leaves you shaking in your boots - LOL!)
Not having to go into the office is awfully nice. It makes life much more flexible. My husband works from home a couple of days a week. And he has been known to stretch out vacations by working remotely a day or two from wherever we happen to be.
I tried it a few times but I need the discipline of going to the office. If I were to try it again I would want to build an office over the garage. Some place to go to work and more importantly, to leave.
It was waaaay before you came along Edes... so, yes we'd include you if he came out again....as my boys the Three Stooges say, "Soitenly!"
Too bad, M. those times WERE great fun! Let me know if the opportunity happens again.... you still have my digits, right?
(and Edie, hobbitt has pics from our last visit on the druidlabs site)
