what IS it?? i'd love to have permission to print this, if you think that's appropriate (giving you credit as photographer, goes without saying).
Master Gardener (Intern) BlueHeronDruid says it's armeria maritima (sea thrift to us mortals). This was pink in the spring and has turned white as it matured.
