hexaflexagon placecard

We like to play. (Yes, it's true, we do.) And we like unusual party invitations. (You might have guessed that after wandering the Bouncin' Dog Greetings site.) For a small dinner party, we made hexaflexagons for name cards. Hexaflexagons have an interesting property - there are more faces than what you expect (in our case, there is one extra face). The "extra" face(s) are exposed by flexing the hexagon (hence, "hexaflexagon").

The theme of the dinner was layered food (layer cakes, 7-layer salads, vegetable pastry, and so forth). While hexa's aren't "layered" so much as multi-faced, we decided to stretch the definitions and make hexaflexagons for placecards. These were tri-hexaflexagons, which have three faces: two of the faces were static, with the druid labs logo and the party date, while the third face had the guest's name on it. Each placecard was 3" from corner to opposing corner.
