Georges Spitzwaller, age 33, of no known address, was arrested late last night for impersonating a young Wilford Brimley. Spitzwaller was released after pleading guilty to impersonating an actor (a bit of circular logic!) and paying a fine.

Actually, I took a class at Mercer County Community College around 1987, in ceramic hand-building techniques. One of the assignments was to throw a sheet of clay, wrap it around a tube form, and go from there. Ceramic Man is the result, and is one of only a few pieces I kept. The ears are leftovers from another assignment, to create flat rectangles for testing glazes. The "hair" was added by dipping the piece in a container of dark glaze. The inside of the tube is robin's egg blue, just because I could.

I could never decide whether that's a bow-tie or a mustache!
